Commonly used cemented carbides are classified into three types according to their composition and properties: tungsten cobalt, tungsten titanium cobalt, tungsten titanium titanium (niobium). Tungsten and cobalt and tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide are the most widely used in production.
(1) tungsten cobalt cemented carbide
The main components are tungsten carbide (WC) and cobalt, and the brand names are expressed in the Chinese phonetic alphabet of YG ("hard" and "cobalt"), and the percentage of cobalt content is expressed. For example, YG6 shows tungsten cobalt cemented carbide with cobalt content of 6%, and tungsten carbide content is 94%.
(2) tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide
The main components are tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC) and cobalt. The brand names are used in the Chinese phonetic alphabet of the code named YT ("hard" and "titanium"), and then a percent value of the content of the titanium carbide is added. For example, YT15 represents tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide with titanium carbide content of 15%.
(3) tungsten titanium tantalum (niobium) cemented carbide
This kind of hard alloy is also called universal hard alloy or universal hard alloy. The main components are tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC), tantalum carbon (TaC) or niobium carbide (NbC) and cobalt. The brand number is represented by code number YW ("hard" and "ten thousand" in Chinese phonetic alphabet) plus ordinal number.
